He’s way too creative to do it the same way twice

I’m big on quotes. Recently a friend shared a quote that stuck with me that I think explains part of God’s nature:

What God has done in the past is a model and a promise of what he’ll do in the future, but he’s way too creative to do it that same way twice!

So often I spend time looking around at things I see God doing in other people’s lives and I match the pattern’s to my own life. Other times I look back at a way God provided for me and I expect Him to come through for me the same way. Instead, I want to reshape my view of these things to see them as unique instances of how God came through for me in the past or is coming through for other people right now.

I like the second part of this about God being too creative to do it the same way twice. As a creative person myself I have an appreciation for this. If you want to bore me make me do something the same way over and over again. Why would God be any different if He’s the ultimate creator?

This quote not only encourages me and gives me hope to keep looking for God in new ways but it also gives me an insight into the heart of God. I appreciate that He desires to be creative and that He has a unique and awesome plan for my future!
